My First Sony Experience is with my Sony Walkman

One of the most interesting and exciting birthday presents I got was from my dad during my 23rd birthday, in 1981. Tearing open the gift wrapper revealed a box with an unfamiliar name on it: Sony Walkman. My dad explained to me that this was the latest in technology from Japan, and that it can play cassette tapes. I was really surprised to see that cassette tape players came in such compact form now, and since I had a fairly large collection of dance music tapes, I was thrilled with my new present.

I wish I could remember name of the model of my first Sony Walkman, but I can still remember what it looked like. It was a silver, boxy gadget with the standard buttons you need to navigate through a cassette tape - play, stop, fast forward, and rewind. Unlike the Walkmans my kids used in the 90’s, mine didn’t have an AM/FM receiver or a record option. It was simply that: a portable device that let me listen to my cassette tapes wherever I went.

Beauty & Minerals Mineral Makeup Bazaar

November 18th, 2008 with 56 views

Mineral makeup is more than just a trend in beauty culture. Unlike traditional makeup products, mineral makeup is a hypoallergenic loose powder that contains no talc, alcohol, dyes, perfumes, oil, or preservatives. Mineral makeup nourishes the skin while providing sheer to full coverage - minus the thick, pore-clogging consequences of traditional makeup.

Here are some more reasons why mineral makeup is good for you:

  • Mineral makeup is great on sensitive skin. Commercial makeup tends to cause acne, clogged pores, and allergies. But because mineral makeup is 100% organic and oil-free, it will not clog pores nor cause pimples like traditional cosmetics.
  • It feels like you’re not wearing any makeup at all. A lot of women don’t like using makeup because it feels like they have layers of powder on, but the texture of mineral makeup is light and different. Even if you put on enough for full coverage, your makeup will still look natural and radiant.
  • Mineral makeup protects skin from the sun. One of the ingredients found in mineral makeup is zinc oxide, which offers natural protection from UV-rays. Most mineral makeup products have 6-10% zinc, and some of them offer 20 or 30 SPF.

Going to the mall is pretty much the only form of recreation around here, so it’s always a big event when a theme park comes to visit. They provide exciting experiences that stimulate our imaginations and tickle our senses, but the best kind of theme park is the one that can take you back in time in order to teach you something about the history of man and the world we live in.

This afternoon, media got a sneak preview on the upcoming Dinosaurs Alive World Tour as it is completing its construction for the holiday season.

Oh yes, the Dinosaurs Alive World Tour is coming to Manila after a successful tour in Bangkok, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia. Dinosaurs Alive is an interactive walk-through exhibition with a dramatic display of life-size dinosaurs, simulator rides, merchandise, and other fun activities for children and the rest of the family. The fully air-conditioned theme park is 12,000 square meters wide and houses over 31 interactive robotic dinosaurs from the Cretaceous and Jurassic, the largest one towering up to two storeys high.
